It seems like he's been featured in more movies than a well placed can of Pepsi. Who? The caped crusader, Batman, that's who!
Since the Batman and Robin series in the late 1940s, Batman has been the most popular fictional character to hit the big screen. The early features were 20 minute cliffhangers that had you coming back the following week to see what happened. And, guess what? It only cost a dime to get in! But, I digress.
The latest Batman thriller is a continuation of the darker version of Batman which started with Batman Begins in 2005. The Dark Knight picks it up with Batman and James Gordon joining forces with Gotham City's new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, to take on a psychotic bank robber known as The Joker, while other forces plot against them and the Joker's crimes grow more and more deadly. Heath Ledger plays the Joker, in his final performance before his tragic death. I wonder how Heath compares to Jack Nicholson, whole played the role to perfection in 1989.
