Ah, early November gives us much to look forward to, including the election of a new president and the sequel to Madagascar! The first Madagascar featured Alex the lion (Ben Stiller), Marty the zebra (Chris Rock), Melman the giraffe (David Schwimmer), and Gloria the hippo (Jada Pinkett Smith) heading to the wild life in Africa from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo. It also featured a bunch of cute penguins, that nearly stole the show!
Bernie Mac is in this one too. Bernie was a very busy man before he passed away, having worked on several movies that were soon to be released, including Madagascar 2 . In this Madagascar sequel he does the voice of Zuba, Alex’s dad. He may be gone, but Bernie lives on!
In this sequel, Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria, King Julien, Maurice and the penguins and the chimps find themselves marooned on the distant shores of Madagascar. In the face of this obstacle, the New Yorkers have hatched a plan so crazy it just might work. With military precision, the penguins have repaired an old crashed plane—sort of. Once aloft, this unlikely crew stays airborne just long enough to make it to the wildest place of all—the vast plains of Africa, where the members of our zoo-raised crew encounter species of their own kind for the very first time. Africa seems like a great place…but is it better than their Central Park home? We’ll see.
